Hi, this is Mick Mink.

I am a glass artist with a mixed media practice.

While obtaining my glass BFA at Tyler School of Art, I cofounded Glasware, a wearable glass fashion project merging flameworked glass chains with New York streetwear culture which featured in New York Fashion Week (2019) and Paris Fashion Week (2020). Every link was torchworked one by one in my Philadelphia studio.

Over time, my work has expanded toward sculpture in the form of hot sculpted glass, casting, mirrors, wood, metal, and light. My material manipulation often uses heat and form to yield an array of motifs: faces, nostalgic everyday objects, biomorphic patterns, abstract shapes.

My current projects inspect the panoramic nature of perception, using borosilicate glass as a two-way portal that simultaneously diffracts and projects all participants, pulling the viewer and their surroundings to become absorbed and multiplied in their own ever-expanding recognition of space, time, and themselves.
